Litvak, as you can see from this post, I don't see it as contradictory to draw from the light that any Tzaddikim brought into the world, whether they be Chassidish, Litvish, Sephardi, or whatever. I also have a post here quoting the Chidah, and another from Rav Yaakov Kaminetzky, and one from Rav Pam.
He was from the same hometown as my great-grandmother.
