  3. I heard one time in the name of the Mitteler Rebbe on the posuk "Voyodaita hayom vhashaivoisa el levavecha.." that "The main point is that today you will know. The next step could happen in a hundred years.."

    disclaimer: That's nowhere near the exact lashon but it's the same idea.
