Guidance all bloggers need from Rav Yaakov Kaminetzky

"Not Everything that one thinks should be spoken. And not everything that is spoken, should be spoken publicly. And not everything spoken publicly should be written down. And not everything written down should be published."

-Rav Yaakov Kaminetzky

(In commemoration of the Yarzeit of Rav Yaakov Kaminetzky on Adar 29)

Good vort, but it predates Rav Yankev. I think I have heard it in the name of Rav Yisroel Salanter or some other early mussar movement great.

I have heard it in the name of the Kotzker Rebbe.

Litvak and ASJ,
The Litvak heard the quote before from a Litvak. The Chassid heard it before from a Chassid. :-) I hadn't heard it from anyone before R' Yaakov.

Yasher Koach on the corrected atribution!

I also remember hearing this one from the Kotzker. And remember, Litvak wasn't sure, he just wrote, " I think I have heard it in the name of Rav Yisroel Salanter or some other early mussar movement great." That could probably include the Kotzker, who some refer to as a critic of Chassidus!
