New, Corrected English Edition of Bilvavi Mishkan Evneh Now Available!

The new and corrected version of Bilvavi Mishkan Evneh Vol. 1 is now available in the United States! The current text has been edited by Rav Avraham Carmell, the son of Rav Areye Carmell. A good portion of it has been reviewed by Rav Moshe Weinberger as well. The first printing of this new edition is on a limited run, so you might want to get your copy now. A second printing of this new English edition is on its way in the near future as well though.

What's wrong with the original text? Do you know if it's the same as is on the website?

I'm not sure if they've updated the text on the website to reflect the new English text. Try e-mailing bilvavi1(at)gmail.com to find that out. Happy learning!

Funny, i was going to ask the same question.
Having R Carmmell's son editing this is very interesting, as R Schwatz seems to base a lot of his teachings on R Dessler. Thanks.

Was there a problem with the original english translation?

The text on the website is NOT QUITE the same as the printed sefer. The printed sefer is Edition One in a limited quantity. Edition Two will be out in a few months with a fully adapted text and a few surprises. (webmaster of bilvavi.net)

Is "edition 2" Vol 2 or a new version of Vol 1? The Bilvavi website only has an announcement. You can't see the teachings anymore. are they going to change it back?

This is Vol. 1. 2nd, corrected edition.

I believe that Vol. 2 in English is in the works as well, but it not yet ready to be published.

Someone else'll have to answer about what they're doing at the website though.

Building a Sanctuary in the Heart Part 1 (Edition One) was printed in a limited edition. The Talmidim of the Rav are now finishing Part 1(Editon Two).

Please note that this is NOT a translation from the original hebrew printed sefer (Bilvavi Mishkan Evneh Aleph) which in itself was based on a series of spoken shiurim from the Rav. Part 1(Edition One) is an adaptation of the hebrew sefer (Bilvavi Mishkan Evneh Aleph). Sentences and even paragraphs that did not find their way into the hebrew printed sefer were added. Also the editor clarified an important point with the Rav for "english speakers" which appears in #83. Furthermore the editor added a clarification in #90.
There are still refinements that we are making which will be seen in Part 1- Edition 2.
In addition, we are working on Part II (based on Bilvavi Mishkan Evneh Beis)which as we all know is 28 chapters and more developed than Part I. We are also adding sections that did not find their way into the printed hebrew sefer.

There is now a separate english section with all the material as there always has been on the website. See the link on the homepage- upper left side. ENGLISH.
