New Maccabeats Chanukah Song/Video: Burn - Classic Maccabeats Videos also Included

The video above is the newest Maccabeats Chanukah video to raise funds for the Miracle Match bone marrow donation organization. Love those "Greek" guys' cameos every year. They even give a hat tip to the fact that Thanksgiving falls on Chanukah this year (eye roll). ;-) And l'hashlamas hainyan, enjoy two other classic Maccabeats Chanukah videos below (wish I could show you our video of our son spontaneously singing Candlelight at his sister's bas mitzva when he was about 5 - sooo cute):

MBD and Y-Love Together - Banned Together

I found this interesting. HT Tikun!

Y-Love: "Back in the day, a couple of years ago, people said that I shouldn't be making Jewish music because Jewish rap music is traif and there was a guy in Bnei Brak saying like 'Jewish music can only sound like this...', there was a-"

MBD: "Well they say that about my music too so don't worry about it."

Y-Love: "Fellow renegade over here!"

That video was filmed during the making of this music video to show support for Shalom Rubashkin:

Four Songs By New Jewish Artist

A very nice bochur in my Shul, Emanuel Neuman, is also an extremely talented musician. You have got to check out these songs below. He has a beautiful voice and a very very nice sound. He has no CD out so he has given me permission to post these songs for free. They are very nice and I definitely recommend that you check them out.

Update (2/11/10): Thanks to Michael Kopinsky, these files are available in mp3 format as well:

Eilecha
The_Puzzle
Kanfei_Nesharim
Watching_Closely

All of the songs are good but I really love the words to Kanfei Nesharim. This music really comes from the heart and goes to the heart.

These songs are in m4a format, so if you need to download this software to convert the files to mp3 if your mp3 player or computer's music player aren't already to play the files, you are encouraged to do so.

HT to Raisin Soul, Emanuel's brother in law, for posting one of the songs too. Picture courtesy of zingerbug.com. Click here to get Dixie Yid in your e-mail Inbox or here to subscribe in Google Reader.

New (To Me) Yeshiva Boys Choir Video

Although I may be criticized a bit for liking a form of shiny shoe music, I can't help it! (See my earlier post.) I just noticed this Yeshiva Boys Choir video that I hadn't seen before.

Awesome New Little-Known Album is Out - Shirei Halevi'im

My holy and awesome friend and inspiration R' Ben Epstein (highly sought-after Sgan Mashgiach at YU) lists, among his many talents, the fact that he has a beautiful voice and a talent for composing great music.

You can hear one of his songs from his new album, Shirei Halevi'im, in-full right now. The song is "Ra'ava D'Ra'avin." The words are from Mizmor L'Dovid, the 23rd perek of Tehillim. Just click on the "play" button next to the title of the song, Ra'ava D'Ra'avin over at CDBaby. You can also get these songs at iTunes.

R' Epstein has structured this album after the days of the week. So the songs are "Sunday," "Monday," etc. and then three additional songs, including Ra'ava D'Ra'avin. You can sample portions of all of the songs and then either buy individual songs, the whole album, or order the physical CD at iTunes or over at CDBaby.

The artwork for the album is by Dan Weinstein, who has been featured here already.
