Avraham Fried in Russia - 1991 - Video
With thanks to Lucky Wolf at Gruntig, here's an amazing video from when Avraham Fried came to Russia, right after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. In this beautiful video, he sings in Russian and Yiddish. There is one really really awesome part. He takes a boy from the audience and starts reading aleph beis with him, just like we do with a boy who begins his Chinuch in mitzvos at his Upsherin. It's amazing to watch the excitement in the audience and how happy everyone is. It's amazing to watch people able to learn Torah and experience Jewish things for the first time in 70 years. Wow.
