It feels like I ought to say something to mark the fact that this is my 1000th post. :-) I guess when I started the blog during my winter break from law school in late December 2006, I didn't know whether I would continue it long term, whether anyone would read, whether I cared if anyone read or whether it would do any good for anyone other than myself. While I still can't answer the last question, it seems that it has continued and some people have started reading this site.
Now, we're at about 95 readers using "Google Reader." Incidently, you can subscribe to my posts in Google Reader by following this link. And we're at just over a hundred readers by e-mail. I'm not saying you should also subscribe, but if you want to, you can do so HERE.
In case you're interested, you can read why I started this blog HERE. And truth be told, in addition to allowing me to share insights, stories, chizuk, etc., through the site, it has also been a great benefit to me on a personal level. I have had a number of amazing opportunities in my "real life" to have a shaychus with many great people and several Tzadikim and Talmidei Chachamim because of this site that I never would have had but for this blog. So B"H I am very grateful for that.
Thank those of you who've given me chizuk in writing on here and who've contributed by guest posting or commenting. May it be Hashem's will that as long as this blog is having a positive impact on myself and others, that Hashem continue to grant me the time and kochos to devote to this blog. And may it be His will that if it no longer serves to be marbeh k'vod Shomayim, that He grant me the wisdom to know that it is time to close it down.

MAzel Tov Dixie Yid!! May you go maichayil el choyil in your avoidas hakoidesh and harbotzas Torah!!
First Mazal Tov..
but second, i'm a little concerned..
have you lost touch with dixie?
shouldn't the title of the post have read: "This is My 1000th Post! Yee Haw!" or "Yahoo!" ???
"Woo Hoo" means you've been too long out of dixie ;)
[disclaimer: i have no idea what kinds of exclamations people actually make in dixie :) ]
thank you so much for your blog! inspiring and interesting, i check it out first thing each day! may G-d bless you!
Rav Dessler taught the same talmid for seven years in England- his ony one at the time- saying that 'in Kelm they preached that one real talmid is better than a hundred false ones.' One never know which plantings will bear fruit.
Your 95 readers are sincere, committed, growing people. What a zechus!!!
May all areas of your life continue to bear hatzlocha in an oifen of lmaila vtaam vdaas.
Sorry that was meant to read lmaila mitaam vdaas.
Thank y'all so much for your brachos and chizuk!
(Better, Yitz?) :-)
4 things im curious about:
do people really buy the dixie yid paraphenilia?
what is ur icon- is it computer designed or a photo of someone with an attach on purim beard?
why is there an arabic translation of dixie yid next to ur sn?
how much time weekly do you invest in this dixieyid blog and all of its anafim- answering comments, so on?
I love your blog, its super helpful!
I have no idea if poeple buy the stuff. I don't check and there's no mark-up. It's just because I think it's funny. As far as I know, the only customers are me and my parents. :-)
It's a photo of someone with a costume beard. In Great Britan, they call it a "jock," which over there means a Scottish person. I just thought the picture was funny.
Ditto with the Arabic translation, which just means "Southern Jew" in Arabic. Just for the sake of silliness.
How much time weekly? A few hours. Not that much time actually.
Kol tuv.
